Ernest Henry Copper-Gold Deposit – Some geophysical observations

Posted Monday 28th December 2015 under News

Blue Sky Geoscience has compiled some interesting aspects of the geophysics used in the discovery of the Ernest Henry iron-oxide copper gold deposit.

The downloadable PDF demonstrates:

  • Strong association of magnetite with copper and gold mineralisation
  • The EM anomaly drilled by the discovery hole was due to a small high grade part of supergene mineralisation near the north end of the deposit.
  • Most of the deposit does not have a strong EM anomaly
  • Secondary copper sulphides in the supergene zone above the magnetic anomaly contribute significantly to the Induced Polarisation chargeability anomaly

I will add more, including some information on the gravity response sometime soon.
